LONDON: The Free Balochistan Movement (FBM) has strongly condemned the recent Iranian military assault on unarmed Baloch women in the village of Ginech, located in the city of Khash in Iranian-occupied Balochistan.

In an official statement released to the media, an FBM spokesperson described the attack as part of a broader and systematic campaign of “genocidal, colonial, and imperial” aggression by the Iranian state against the Baloch nation.

The spokesperson stated that this violence mirrors the oppression of Baloch women in Karvandar and the abduction and detention of women and children in Pakistani-occupied Balochistan, highlighting a coordinated effort by both Iranian and Pakistani states to suppress Baloch national identity and resistance.

“While Iran and Pakistan may differ on many issues, they are united in their efforts to eliminate the Baloch people and extinguish the spirit of Baloch resistance,” the statement said. “Their cooperation increases when it comes to silencing the voice of Baloch nationalism.”

According to the FBM, the military attack in Ginech resulted in the death of 40-year-old Khan Bibi Bamari and the injury of at least 11 women, including a pregnant woman, Rayhana Bamari, who was reportedly beaten by Iranian forces. Another injured woman, Lal Bibi Bamari, later succumbed to her wounds at a hospital in Khash.

The FBM stressed that the attack was not an isolated incident, but part of an orchestrated effort to erase the political, social, and cultural presence of the Baloch people in their ancestral land. “This is a continuation of Tehran’s policy of violent suppression, systemic displacement, and demographic reengineering aimed at permanently disempowering the Baloch nation,” the spokesperson said.

The party also accused the Iranian regime of gross violations of international law, including human rights statutes, the United Nations Charter, and the Geneva Conventions. “The violence inflicted upon Baloch women, including the miscarriage of a pregnant victim due to physical assault, reflects the complete moral and legal bankruptcy of the Iranian state,” the FBM added.

Drawing a parallel to South Africa’s apartheid regime, the statement warned that the current Iranian approach to Balochistan constitutes one of the most egregious forms of modern-day oppression.

The FBM emphasised that the Baloch people now face a clear choice: continue suffering under occupation or pursue the path of freedom. “The philosophy of an independent Balochistan is grounded in national unity. Those who attempt to divide the Baloch under the pretext of ‘good’ or ‘bad’ occupiers are unwittingly supporting the agenda of erasure,” the statement read.

The organisation urged international human rights bodies, the United Nations, freedom-supporting nations, and the Islamic world to break their silence and condemn Iran’s actions in Khash and other parts of occupied Balochistan. “This is not just a Baloch issue. It is a test for the conscience of humanity.”

The statement concluded with a tribute to the victims of the Ginech attack: “We honour the martyrs and wounded of Khash. Their sacrifice will not be forgotten. The mothers of Ginech are no longer just victims. They are now symbols of Baloch resistance.”
