QUETTA, July 12, 2025: The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed responsibility for a series of attacks targeting Pakistani forces and exploitative companies in the Kalat region. According to a statement released by the group’s spokesperson, Azad Baloch, the actions are part of their ongoing efforts to disrupt the aggression of occupying forces and intensify their struggle for an independent Balochistan.

On the evening of July 11, BLA fighters set up a blockade on the Quetta-Karachi RCD Highway in the Dasht Goran area of Kalat, a strategically important route connecting major cities. The fighters took control of the area at around 9:00 PM and initiated vehicle checks, halting traffic for several hours.

The operation lasted until approximately 1:00 AM the following day. During the blockade, Pakistani forces attempted to infiltrate the controlled zone, prompting a fierce exchange of fire. BLA fighters responded with coordinated attacks from multiple directions, successfully forcing the Pakistani troops to retreat.

According to the BLA’s statement, two Pakistani personnel were killed and three others were injured in the ensuing clash.

In a separate development, BLA fighters also targeted an exploitative company near the Gidaan Hotel in Kalat. Several vehicles and machinery belonging to the company were damaged in the attack. The group said that these actions are part of their ongoing campaign against the economic exploitation of Balochistan’s resources.

The BLA also took responsibility for two separate attacks on Pakistani forces in Kalat earlier in the month. On July 2, BLA fighters launched a sniper attack on a Pakistani forces post in the Shah’e Mardan area of Kalat. One Pakistani soldier was killed, and another was injured during the assault.

On the evening of July 5, BLA fighters targeted a Pakistani forces post in the Shekhari area using heavy weapons. The subsequent clash lasted for about an hour, resulting in the deaths of five Pakistani soldiers and injuries to five more.

Azad Baloch, the spokesperson for the BLA, emphasised that the group will not cease its operations until an independent Balochistan. He stated, “We will continue our struggle against the occupying forces and exploitative entities until our people are free from external oppression and control.”
