Dasht, Balochistan: A tragic incident occurred on Saturday in Sholig village in Dasht when Pakistani security forces carried out a house-to-house operation, resulting in the death of Councillor Chairman Jam Khudadad. According to local sources, the councillor was unable to withstand the verbal abuse, physical intimidation, and extreme psychological pressure during the operation.

Three other individuals were briefly detained during the operation but were later released. Sources stated that security forces questioned Jam Khudadad about Baloch insurgents and subjected him to harsh treatment and verbal abuse. Witnesses reported that he responded calmly, stating that the insurgents were not present in the village and warned the forces, saying, “If you want to catch or kill anyone, go search in the mountains; harassing the villagers will achieve nothing.” He collapsed on the spot and died.

The operation reportedly involved searches of all homes in the village, creating panic and distress among residents. Local sources emphasised that Jam Khudadad’s death was a direct result of the extreme psychological and emotional pressure exerted by security forces.
